I liked the effects that I used. The effects that I used were the aged film effect with some shakes and scratches and a suspenseful sounding tune.

This is a stop motion animation Super Mario video done with legos. It's cool because I like Mario games and it had the sound effects and everything.

Photoshop assignment

For the Photoshop assignment I gave a photo of myself that I took with isight, look like it was from a page in a comic book. At first it was hard because I had no clue how to use photoshop but now after doing this assignment, I have(even if a little)some experience with photoshop. It was kinda user friendly,I think that it was more for people know there way around photoshop but after skipping a few steps and putting my own spin on it,I can proundly say that I finished it.

Surrealism Assignment

Surrealism is a movement that started at the end World War 1 where countries were in disarray. It is an unrealistic art form that can challenge ones perception of reality.

I think that it was done by taking the photograph, with the worm I'm thinking that they had a snake-like object to fill the space where the snake would be.Then they might have got a picture of a snake and put it over the snake-like object, using it as a sort of guideline.

1) I did like this video because it went into black and white issues and misconceptions. It was two guys talking about racism through a game of chess.

2) The video gets it's point across in a kinda creative way. From the discussion you'd think that they're talking about racism but they're really talking about the chess pieces.

3) Though the video did not have any voice-overs or anything it did have a look at shots of the chess board, and of the guys talking. When the black guy's face(his name was never mentioned)showed annoyance at being the black pieces because he thought that being the white pieces would give him an edge in the game. The video its self is more if a dialogue than a narrative. The shots showed emotion such as annoyance, and confusion. The PSA didn't have a dark of serious tone at all, but I fell it got the point across nicely.

Phenakistoscope

I went to the site http://courses.ncssm.edu/gallery/collections/toys/opticaltoys.htm. It is an optical device website. Our assignment was to give a report on one of the optical toy on the site.

A Belgium physicist named Joseph Plateau and his sons introduced the Phenakistoscope to the world.
The mechanics of the device were adapted from Newton and a Greek mathematician named Elucid.
There are two discs, both with successive action. When spun it look like the couple is dancing.

Here is a Quick Summary of the article I read:

Sequencing is the foundation of any video story. Compressing the story really is the best way to go about it because filming every thing in real time will BORE THE AUDIENCE TO DEATH. Filming a scene for ten seconds per frame will get the point across without showing you the viewer every single detail. It is important for things like this to learned because theses are the fundamentals of editing. The question of where the scene is going is important, if the movements are anticipated it will make for better structure in the scene. Don't pan of zoom, just let the scene come and go. Throwing in two of the same shots are bad. It does annoy the audience or it at least raises questions. And last B.roll is good to have in some instances. It gives the editor more to work with and it'll make the editor's life A LOT easier.

Logo assesment

In the wild, the Chameleons vary in size and are well known for being able to blend in with their surroundings by changing their colour. Chameleons have a unique foot structure, no ears and a long tongue. Their tongues are capable of projecting out of their mouths faster than the human eye can see and can hit its prey at about 30 thousands of a second. Their tongues are a complex arrangement of bone and muscle. At the base of the tongue there is a bone that gives the tongue an appropriate amount of momentum to catch their prey quickly. Small Chameleons are capable of eating small locust and mantis.

I chose this animal because like the Chameleon sometime I prefer to blend In with my surrounding and not be noticed unless we reveal ourselves either on a whim or when we are needed. It was also chosen with our ability to change and mold our appearance.

In my logo I have had made about ten copies (excluding my original) I only had three that I really liked. The lines of the chameleon logo were all the same, but I felt that the shape of the chameleon this nice and clear. There are a few mistakes but I was able to use then to my advantage.

I think that though my company can change and tweak its appearance with ease we do have a clean clear laid back image but we do know when it’s time to work.

Rhythm assignment part 2

This part of the assignment was to create an expressive rhythm with lines. I had used a stylized brush and did one curved stroke. Then I copied and pasted said curved lines and just rotated them to form a spiral-looking image. It looks similar to the wind charts on the weather channel.

Rhythm Assignment

This Rhythm assignment plays with the thick and thinness of the lines that are parallel to each other. It creates an optical illusion the fools you into thinking that the thinner lines are far away are the thicker lines are closer, it could even pass for a barcode or even those lines that show up when there is an error with the T.V station.

Very Tired

I'm very tired....

The Creation of Adam

The artwork that I’m critiquing for Imitationalism is Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam. Adam and God are realistic and proportionate. The painting is definitely detailed; it was completed in less than four years without assistance for Pope Julius. There is lots of negative space between Adam and God but the space that Adam and God do take up is used. The quality of the painting is impressive though.

Though it does spark a kind of intriguing feel as you see God transferring the “Spark of Life” to Adam, I don’t think I feel like any emotions I’m feeling resonate with this particular work of art. The mood I’d say that this painting projects would be a serious feeling, other might ague that it has a triumphant are around it.

There is lots of negative space between Adam and God but the space that Adam and God do take up is used. Line and shape are use exceptionally in this work of art. The painting looks like there’s a smooth texture to it.
